Peak District: Snake Pass & Cat and Fiddle

Map of the Peak District: Snake Pass & Cat and Fiddle route showing the full 74-mile drive route

Two legendary roads in one loop from Buxton: the Cat and Fiddle's curves to Macclesfield, then over the Snake Pass to Ladybower and back through Castleton beneath Winnats Pass.

Two of the north's most famous roads in a single loop. The Cat and Fiddle's flowing curves were once a road-tester's favourite, and the Snake Pass across the moors is regularly voted among Britain's best drives. Winnats Pass at the end, squeezed between limestone towers, is the dramatic dessert.
